British IPTV: frequently asked questions
Thirty plain answers about British IPTV: UK law and the TV Licence, Standard and Premium prices in pounds, devices, set-up, refunds and support hours.
British IPTV is an online IPTV subscription sold in pounds from britishiptv.uk. You buy a plan for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, receive personal log-in details, enter them in a compatible IPTV app on your own device and watch a channel line-up over your broadband, together with on-demand films and series where your plan includes them. It is a stream over the internet, not a satellite dish or a cable box, and the comparison table on the plans page lists what each plan includes.
IPTV as a technology is legal in the UK; what matters is whether the service you use has the right to distribute the channels it carries, and that is a question about the provider, not about the app or the device. British IPTV sets out what it does and does not supply on its Legal and licensing page, and watching live television in the UK on any service still requires a TV Licence.
Yes, if you watch or record programmes as they are broadcast live on any channel or service in the UK, the TV Licensing rules say you need a TV Licence, whatever device or app you use. British IPTV does not sell or include a TV Licence; the rules and the exceptions are published by TV Licensing.
The channel list is published by category on the Channels page, which is the only place where channel names are stated, and the line-up can change over time. British IPTV does not name individual broadcasters or sport competitions in its advertising, so check the list itself before you order.
Standard costs £12.99 for 1 month, £24.99 for 3 months, £34.99 for 6 months and £49.99 for 12 months; Premium costs £17.99, £34.99, £49.99 and £64.99 for the same durations. All prices are in pounds sterling, and the price shown is the price you pay, with no strike-through prices.
It is a one-off payment for the duration you choose, and nothing renews automatically. When the plan ends it simply stops, and you are not charged again unless you place a new order.
Any IPTV app that accepts an M3U playlist link or an Xtream Codes log-in should work with a Standard plan, so you can use IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, IBO Player or the player you already have; the order confirmation tells you which log-in format to use. Premium is used through the AromaOtt player app (aromaott.com). The other apps belong to their own publishers, are not made or sold by British IPTV and are named only as compatible; our set-up guides show each one step by step.
If a channel or the whole service stops working, contact support on WhatsApp during support hours and we will check your account and the stream and tell you what is wrong. Because the streams run on servers operated by the providers we resell, some faults are fixed by them rather than by us, and we will say so when that is the case. If you are worried about unused time, ask on WhatsApp before you buy.
Check five things on any IPTV website before you pay: a named business with an address and company number, prices shown in pounds, a refund policy whose conditions match its headline, support hours that are stated rather than promised for every hour of the day, and no reviews or ratings that cannot be traced to real customers. The About, Refund policy and Contact pages of this site are where British IPTV states each of these, so you can check rather than take our word for it.
UK prosecutions to date have been brought against people who sold or operated unauthorised services, and in some police operations customers of a shut-down seller have received warning letters or visits. Whether a viewer commits an offence depends on the facts and on whether the service is authorised, so this is a statement of the public record, not legal advice and not a reassurance. British IPTV's own position on what it supplies is on the Legal and licensing page.
British IPTV is a reseller: the subscriptions run on servers operated by several providers whose service we resell, and we do not run those servers ourselves. We handle your order and your support, and the Premium plan is used through the AromaOtt player app (aromaott.com), which the owner of British IPTV also runs. Many IPTV shops sell access to the same kind of systems, so the differences that matter to you are who answers your messages, how refunds are handled and whether the business can be identified, and this site has a page for each.
Choose Standard or Premium and a duration on the plans page, press the order button and follow the steps shown. Your log-in details are then sent by WhatsApp during support hours, 9 am to 2 am UK time. Ask on WhatsApp before you buy how long to expect and when your plan's duration starts.
Both are ways of entering the same account in an app: Xtream Codes is a server address, a username and a password, and M3U is a single playlist link. Use Xtream Codes where the app offers it, because it usually loads the programme guide and the on-demand sections more completely, and M3U where the app only accepts a link. The order confirmation tells you which log-in format to use.
Yes, the service is an internet stream, so it works wherever you have broadband or mobile data good enough for video, including Spain, Portugal, France and Cyprus. Prices stay in pounds and your card issuer converts them. If you live outside the UK, ask on WhatsApp before you buy whether your order can be accepted. The catch-up apps run by UK broadcasters are a separate matter, because their operators restrict them to the UK.
Yes, a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV Cube that can install an IPTV app can be used: load a compatible player such as IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate, enter the log-in details from your order confirmation, and the line-up loads. Premium is used through the AromaOtt player app; ask on WhatsApp before you buy whether it runs on your Fire TV model. Our Firestick guide shows each step. Fire TV is an Amazon product, and British IPTV is not connected with Amazon.
Yes, through a compatible IPTV app: on Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS) Smart TVs the app comes from the TV's own app store where it is listed, and Android TV and Google TV boxes, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Android phones each have compatible apps. Availability changes by model and region, so each device has its own short guide, linked from the How it works page.
Around 10 Mbps per HD stream and 25 Mbps per 4K stream is a sensible working minimum, so most UK fibre and cable lines are fine. Freezing is caused more often by an unsteady Wi-Fi link than by speed, so a cable to the router, or a box placed next to it, gives the steadiest picture. These are indicative figures, not a statement about your line.
A VPN is a separate product, and nothing on this site tells you to buy one; the plan page lists what each plan includes. A VPN is legal to use in the UK, but it does not change what a service is allowed to carry, and it can slow a stream down. Some people use one when travelling or when their broadband provider slows video traffic, which is their own choice.
Some UK broadband providers block particular streaming servers under court orders obtained by rights holders, mostly around live sport, so a channel that fails only at those times may be blocked rather than broken. Your broadband provider can see that your connection is streaming video and which server it comes from, but not which channel you are watching. British IPTV gives no advice on getting round a block. What happens to your data is covered on the Privacy policy page.
First restart the app and the device, then switch from Wi-Fi to a cable or move the device nearer the router, then clear the app's cache and try a lower-quality stream of the same channel. If it still freezes at the same time of day on several channels, message support with the channel name and the time so we can check the stream, because freezing that happens only at busy times is often on the service side rather than yours. Our troubleshooting guide lists each step in order.
Support is available on WhatsApp (+33 7 74 02 33 33) from 9 am to 2 am UK time; messages sent outside those hours are answered from 9 am. The Contact page has the WhatsApp link.
To renew, order a new plan from the plans page; the Renewal page explains what happens to your log-in details and when you can renew. To cancel, there is nothing to do, because a plan is a one-off payment that ends on its own and nothing renews automatically. Note your end date, and the Refund policy page says whether unused time is refunded if you stop early.
As a reseller, British IPTV has no access to what any customer watches on the providers' servers, and it holds only the order data needed to deliver and support a plan: your email address, the plan you bought and its dates, plus the messages you send to support. The Privacy policy lists each item, says what the AromaOtt app used with Premium records, and explains how to ask for access or deletion under the UK GDPR.
